Your Eyes DON’T See!

Filed under: Guest Contributions — jodi @ 8:14 am

I’ve been referring to this article, quite frequently, so I thought I would post it here for you to read.  Be warned….it will shatter your version of “reality!”  Have fun with it!  You can find this post at http://revolutioniz.com/revolutioniz/?p=20 .

I AM…Jodi

“I can’t believe my eyes”, people say…

Well, they shouldn’t either. Because you’re eyes don’t actually see.

They’re merely lenses that pass on information to the visual cortex in the brain. And only there do you see.

The location of the visual cortex in your brain, which is what we actually 'see' with.

So you actually see with your brain, not with your eyes. “I saw it with my own brain!” would be a better way to put it. After all, we decode the visible frequencies of light that our eyes pick up into ‘physical reality’. Your eyes don’t send images to your brain of 3D street scenes or whatever we think we see outside of us. They perceive frequencies and then send them to the brain in the form of electrical signals. And your brain decodes those signals into an apparent 3D reality that we think is outside of us.

What we see is ‘light’, as it’s reflected by what’s called ‘luminous matter’. ‘Luminous matter’ reflects electromagnetic light, which your eyes can perceive.

But 95 percent (at least) of the mass in the universe is known as ‘dark matter’ or ‘dark energy’. This ‘stuff’ doesn’t reflect light, and therefore can’t be seen by us humans. However, it can be measured by its effect on the part of the universe that we can ‘see’. That’s how we know it’s there.

But anyway, the only light we can see is the light reflected within the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum. And we only see those particular frequencies within that electromagnetic spectrum. And actually, it’s only a fraction of the spectrum that can be accessed by our human vision:

The light we can actually 'see' is only a tiny fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum, and the electromagnetic spectrum is only 0.005% of all the mass in the universe.

But there’s even more… The electromagnetic spectrum is only 0.005% of the estimated mass of the universe. And human sight can see only a tiny fraction of these electromagnetic frequencies. So imagine how little of the universe we can actually perceive and decode into ‘physical’ reality!

We’re virtually blind!

The truth is that we only see what the brain tells us to see. And let’s take a quick look at what happens before we actually ‘see’:

– First, light enters the eye by passing through the outer, transparent layer called the ‘cornea’.

– Then it goes on through the pupil, which gets bigger or smaller to allow for more or less light to be let in (depending on the circumstances). This latter process is controlled by the iris (the colored part of the eye).

– Then it goes to the lens to be focused.

– After that, it enters the ‘vitreous humor’, a jelly-like substance behind the lens.

– And then the light (or information) strikes the retina, which ‘captures’ the image like the film in those good old photo cameras. However, this image recorded on the retina is two-dimensional and upside-down!

The next stop is the optic nerve, which in turn sends the image through the brain to the ‘occipital lobe’. This is where the brain re-assembles the two-dimensional and upside-down image that was delivered by the eyes into the form that we think we are seeing.

So this is really quite a path to travel for what we think is an ‘objective image’ before we actually see it. And what’s even more striking are all the things that happen before we actually ‘see’ the image that we think we see.

After all, what we think is a 3D image that situated outside of us is only constructed when frequencies are recorded as a two-dimensional and upside-down image on the retina. It’s only later (when the info reaches the ‘occitipal lobe’) that it’s constructed into a 3D image. And this construction happens in your brain.

So does the world outside of us really exist in the way we think we see it? But wait… Here’s another thought-provoking realization:

On the way from the eyes to the visual cortex, the temporal lobes edit and reconstruct up to 50% and more of the ‘light’ or ‘information’ that was perceived by the eyes. In his book The Holographic Universe, the late Michael Talbot writes about the work of neurophysiologist Karl Pribram and others [p. 163]:

“Pribram discovered that the visual information a monkey receives via its optic nerves does not travel directly to its visual cortex, but is first filtered through other areas of its brain. Numerous studies have shown that the same is true of human vision. Visual information entering our brains is edited and modified by our temporal lobes before it is passed on to our visual cortices. Some studies suggest that less than 50 percent of what we ‘see’ is actually based on information entering our eyes. The remaining 50 percent plus is pieced together out of our expectation of what the world should look like (and perhaps out of other sources such as reality fields). The eyes may be the visual organs, but it is the brain that sees.”

Wow! And then consider this…

What we don’t ‘see’, we make up. Seriously, we make it up! Here’s how…

Our eyes have a blind spot where the optic nerve connects to the eye in the middle of the retina. We can’t see anything with that part of the eye. However, the brain weaves the picture together from the information available and ‘fills the hole’.

So actually, what we believe we are seeing is what we see. Upon constructing the 3D image that we think we eventually ‘see’, the brain filters and tweaks the information received by filling in holes and matching it to its expectations of what there is to be seen, based on its engrained beliefs. And that latter part makes up for more than 50% of the images we actually ‘see’!

That’s quite something! We also describe this mechanism in our free book on the Premises Of Your Own Power (and if you haven’t read it yet, you can get it for free by subscribing at the right hand side at the top of this page). Here are some excerpts of what we wrote:

“Most people will be familiar with overlooking misspelled words. This is because your eyes, or rather your brain, is so accustomed to reading the words in correct spelling, that it simply overlooks a typo. The typo is filtered out of the image by your brain, which causes you to overlook it and see the correct spelling, which is in line with your expectations. This does not happen all the time, but it does happens sometimes, which illustrates the point to make here. Neurophysiologists like Karl Pribram have long been aware of this fact.

In relation to the example of the misspelled words, your engrained belief system (the correct spelling of the words you see most of the time) caused your brain to filter out the information (the typo) that was at odds with its conditioned worldview (its expectations).”

Here’s another excerpt:

“Likewise, studies have shown that men and women often have trouble communicating accurately with each other, because what one says the other does not hear. Each hears merely whatever supports their belief and prejudice about each other. They pick up only what they want to hear, or what supports their conditioned view of the way things are. This is a psychological phenomenon called ‘selective retention’.”

And here’s a final one:

“The catch is that seeing is not just believing. Apparently, ‘believing is also seeing’. Because the information picked up by your eyes is edited by your brain according to its engrained belief systems, a large proportion of what you actually ‘see’ is determined by what you believe deep inside to be true. You see what you believe. And of course, because you see what you believe, you immediately believe what you see, because it supports your belief systems that determined what you saw in the first place. Thus, what you see reinforces your belief system, which causes you to keep seeing things in the way you believe things to be, which in turn again makes you see things in that way. It’s a self-reinforcing cycle!”

(You can read more details on that in the book on the Premises Of Your Own Power…)

But for now, we’re slowly moving into the point that we want to make…

After all, it’s clear that the beliefs programmed into your brain have a significant effect on the way you perceive ‘reality’… or in fact, on the way you even construct reality and thus what you seem to be ‘attracting’!

The thing is… Your brain is not the center of control that determines what happens and what doesn’t happen.

And that’s good news!

Because it’s still true that you can be the one taking control. You don’t have to be a slave to your body and brain. That is, if you recognize that you are not your body. You need to recognize that you are indeed the essence controlling it and occupying it to allow yourself to experience this ‘3D solid world’.

After all… Consider all this:

There has been this publication of an article in the scientific journal ‘Science’ with the provocative title ‘Is Your Brain Really Necessary’.  This article was a reaction to the description of this British neurologist John Lorber of a young man of ‘normal development’, with an IQ of 126, and an academic degree in mathematics.

The funny thing was that a brain scan of this apparently highly intelligent young man showed that he was a pretty hardcore case of what’s known as ‘hydrocephalus’, or ‘water on the brain’.

Put differently, the head of this ‘IQ 126’, ‘academic degree in mathematics’ young man was filled with cerebrospinal fluid for 95%. What this means in layman’s terms is that his skull was like a swimming pool for his brain, which basically drowned in all that fluid.

His cerebral cortex had a gauge of about 1 millimeter, so there was hardly any brain tissue left. The weight of his brain was estimated to about 100 grams, where 1500 grams is normal for an average homo sapiens sapiens. But the workings of his brain were hardly impaired at all!

The following picture comes to mind:

Water On The Head

Maybe we underestimated him…

Anyway, it seems like the brain is not the source of consciousness. And so the good news is that you can exert control over your brain (and thus your perceptions and the way you construct your reality (or what you seem to ‘attract’)) through your own being conscious.

Put differently: You need to wake-the-hell up!

Basically, your body (including your brain) is a vehicle for experience, and you’re in the driver’s seat.

You can take control and manipulate your perceptions, and it has been shown that you (being a conscious essence) can even change your brain (being a part of the ‘space suit’ (your body) you’re wearing in order to be able to experience this ‘physical ‘reality’).

And if you listen closely, you’ll see this is true, and you’ll learn how you can benefit from this…

Science has shown during our lives there’s this ongoing process of adaptation in your brain. This happens because your mental, intellectual, spiritual and physical activities influence both the number as well as the locations of the mutual connections between neurons (brain cells). This process of ongoing adaptation is called ‘neuroplasticity’ or ‘cortical remapping’.

So basically, because of conscious attention, emotions and active thought processes, as well as due to physical activity and movement, the neural networks in your brain change continually. And as such, the electromagnetical activity in your brain changes all the time as well.

In a recent article in the scientific journal called ‘Progress In Neurobiology’ called ‘Mind Does Really Matter’, neuroscientist Mario Beauregard comes to the conclusion that trust and positive expectations are capable of influencing (changing) the parts in the brain that play a significant role in perceiving, movement, pain and a whole bunch of emotional processes.

So your mental processes (thoughts, feelings, beliefs, but most of all your conscious free will) can significantly influence the functioning of your brain on various levels. Your conscious and deliberate manipulation of your thoughts and expectations not only greatly improves your feelings of well-being. It also causes a demonstrable biological change in your brain.

So what to make of all this scientific mumbo-jumbo?

Well, here we go…

By waking-the-hell up from the vicious cycle that you may find yourself in, you can make astonishing changes in your perceived reality.

After all, we’ve seen that you see what you believe. Your brain edits the information it receives based on its engrained belief systems to determine what you see. And then what you see is merely a confirmation of what you already believe.

It’s a self-reinforcing cycle, and it’s vicious as long as it’s based on beliefs of negativity, being powerless, being poor, feeling guilty, and so on…

But by waking-the-hell up, you can consciously change your perceptions. You can consciously cause significant, demonstrable biological changes in your brain.

Your brain will change, and your perceptions will change. And as your perceptions will change, your beliefs will change. And as your beliefs change into knowing that you have full power over your own reality, your perceptions will change accordingly.

It’s still a self-reinforcing cycle, but not a vicious one anymore. Both your conscious and your subconscious mind will change into a state in which you genuinely believe down to the core of your being that you’re the one in control. And you can simply pick your beliefs. Your brain, mind and perceptions of your ‘outside reality’ will follow automatically.

Even if you have water on the head, as you have seen…

So who cares if your brain scan looks like Homer Simpson’s?

It doesn’t matter, because you are not your body. You are a unique representation of all that exists, and you kick ass.

Boundaries of the Brain

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 11:02 am

brain-of-homer.jpg   Although some people become frightened or disturbed when they begin to understand the world “out there” isn’t really outside the body, I find it is a real hoot!  After I understood the process of how units of light are translated by the brain through the visual cortex, I couldn’t stop looking around and giggling!  If this fascinates you as much as it does me, then click here to read a very, very interesting article which provides even further evidence that the world we “see” comes largely from our beliefs.

One great example given in the article is how we can read a misspelled word, but not catch it, because our minds simply by-pass and edit the mistake for us.  After we’ve seen a word spelled a particular way, for years, when we start to edit our work, we may not even notice we misspelled it, because our brain is trained to see it the right way.  It automatically corrects it as we read.

Another fascinating aspect of this article is the story of a man with an IQ of 126, who was quite gifted in math.  But here’s the catch.  When they did a brain scan on him, they discovered he had suffered from hydrocephalus (water on the brain), and the actual weight of his brain was estimated at 100 grams.  A normal brain should weigh around 1500 grams.  Apparently, the fact that he had such a tiny brain had no effect on his intelligence, whatsoever.  Hmmmm…so, are we saying the brain isn’t really even needed??!!  Are we more than just our bodies?

In truth, the bodies we inhabit are the smallest part of who we are, and yes, absolutely, we can get along without them.  We are so much more than photons of light.  We are the consciousness operating the whole experience.  And where is this consciousness?  The vast majority of people believe it is contained within the brain, but even neuroscientists will tell us that simply isn’t true.  It is not “in” the body at all.

The fact is, we have such limited awareness of our surroundings!  What we perceive as the whole picture is so minuscule it is startling.  The electromagnetic spectrum (the physical “stuff”) is only 0.005% of the estimated mass of the universe, and human eyes can only see a tiny fraction of those frequencies.  The remaining part of the universe is still classified as “dark energy.”  Thus, like is stated in the article, we are virtually BLIND!

In the past two decades, however, we have started to learn so much about about the relationship our human bodies have with the dark energy of the universe.  Science proves we communicate with it, and that we can move formless into form as we alter our perceptions and expectations.  How?  Through our heart-based feelings.

The exciting thing about understanding all this is that we start to realize that we have the ability to change our world through changing our beliefs.  Because we are “constructing” our reality, as we go, we have the option to revise the plan.  So, if we don’t like what is showing up in our lives…we can actually DO something to change it!

While a lot of people will be with me, so far, I may lose some at this point.  “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” they will say, “everyone talks about this, but no one really has a magic way to do it.” They look around at their lives and they see things they don’t like.  They are swimming in debt.  Their relationships are strained.  They don’t have the car, house, or job they want.  They’ve tried a lot of programs, gone to workshops, engaged the Law of Attraction, decorated their vision boards, stuck affirmations all over their walls on Post-It notes and made their lists of goals and dreams.  One person tells them to try this system, while another person guarantees them they have the answer.  It’s too confusing!  In spite of everything they did to move themselves to a better place, nothing worked.  They grew tired of trying to shape their world, so they gave up and went back to living it as though it was coming at them, not through them.  Sadly, they’ve settled for remaining a victim to negative circumstances.

Well, if you are still with me, please allow me to explain further.  This happens because a broad method is generally introduced as a one-size-fits-all program.  But the truth is, each of these people need individualized attention.  What needs to be addressed for one may be completely different from what another person needs.  As I work with my clients, I individualize their programs, because each one is at a different place in understanding and beliefs.  I have some clients who are great at heart-based meditations, while others have never been able to sit still long enough to meditate, or they don’t even believe in it.  Some of my clients have serious psychological reversal issues or numerous aspects to countless problems.  Others are just too depressed to do the work needed, and if we don’t first tackle the depression, we are going to go nowhere fast.  How silly it would be of me to treat each one of my clients in the exact same way!  In short, the only way to benefit each client is to meet them where they are, and work with them at their own pace.  For some, it happens quickly, while others may take months.  It all depends on their personal circumstances.

I can promise you this.  Persistence and patience will ultimately pay off.  As you work with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to remove blocks to good, you will sense change in many areas of your life.  Often, these changes are completely unexpected, because while you were working on one issue, another one cleared that wasn’t in your present awareness.  How cool is that?  In time, as you move yourself out of the energy of resistance (separation), into acceptance (oneness), one by one, more and more problems will collapse.  Your life will start to mirror your new beliefs…and you are off and running in a positive new direction.  At that point, you will wonder what took you so long to give it a try!  We’ll tap on that, as well.

Hey, all I’m saying is don’t give up!  If you’ve tried other methods and they didn’t work, try something else.  Try someone else!  There are people all around you singing the praises of these ideas, and they are demonstrating that this stuff actually DOES work.  If you go to Gary Craig’s website or the Try It On Everything site, you will see hundreds of case studies that prove it works.  If they can do it, so can you.  In time, you will find the puzzle piece that works for you.  It will work because you believe in it, and ultimately, that is all it ever takes.  Belief.  (While Craig says you don’t have to believe, I qualify that by saying if you have a direct block against EFT working, it won’t work due to psychological reversal.  That would have to be cleared, first.  However, if you are neutral in your belief, it will work, anyway.)

So, go ahead.  Take a long, hard look at the world “around” you.  Spooky out there, isn’t it?  LOL  Don’t like what you see?  Change it!  Email or give me a call, and let’s see if EFT is right for you, too.  There’s no better time than NOW to begin to design yourself a brand new life!  Let’s SEE what we can do for you.

Out of Time!

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 12:59 pm

We are running out of time.  From the perspective of the ego, that’s bad news and will give rise to fear.  From a higher perspective, the running out of time is exactly what is needed for the new consciousness to come into this world.
~Eckhart Tolle, “A New Earth”~

It strikes me as odd that the world is still looking for “the way” to manifest miracles.  We already know.  The process so long awaited has been revealed!  And yet, many still do not have eyes to see.  Do you?

This morning, I watched a seven-part video of Gregg Braden discussing how all this works.  You can click here to see it for yourself, just in case my words don’t provide the obviously much-needed clarity.

The way to move miraculous healings into your experience is to FEEL them into it, as if they already happened.  Period.  Is it that simple?  Yes!  Unfortunately, billions of people are still unaware, but the time has come for us to share this understanding through individual demonstrations.  As we do this, evidence will finally be great enough to tip the scales.  At that point, using this process will be the standard for everyone, and our world will experience a radical shift in evolution.  Let those that have ears to hear, hear this.

Why are people still praying to a distant Deity, asking for healing and the fulfillment of their desires, when we know that method is, at best, hit and miss?  In fact, those very prayers may be the reason we aren’t getting what we want!  When we ask for something, we are coming from a state of lack.  We are claiming we don’t have it.  This is preventing the very thing we are asking for to be present in the here and now.  It is not the “asking” that brings us anything.  It is the believing!  Whatever it is we feel we don’t have…if we want to experience it in the form of physical reality…we must believe we already have it!  We must believe it so thoroughly, we create a virtual vortex that opens into another dimension, and allows it to pour into this one.  How?  By feeling enormous gratitude for already having it.  That’s the only prayer we need ever pray.

I suppose the biggest obstacle to changing our older methods of prayer is that we have done it that way for so long, in western Christian traditions, in particular, that we feel letting go of petitionary prayers is somewhat disrespectful.  It isn’t, however.  We have to consider that perhaps we merely misunderstood or lost a part of what our ancestors knew.  In the most gentle way I know how, I ask my more fundamentalist friends to at least consider a new way of thinking.  Christ Jesus, to the best of our knowledge (based on biblical text), did not fall to his knees and recite long petitionary prayers to God in order to heal people.  Nowhere are there stories of him asking for the one wanting healing to bow his or her head to join him in a lengthy prayer to ask for God’s mercy.  The healing was generally instantaneous, and the one correlation I find between the reports of how he did this seem to indicate that all he did, for the most part, was ask if the person believed.  So, why do we continue to think that the only way to pray is to beg God for things?  Why don’t we understand that God is not a human-type entity off in distant locations, granting and denying requests, but that God is an all-encompassing intelligent Presence that is continuously responding to the feelings we feel?  Ask, and we receive.  Not sometimes…always.  Not next week…instantly.

As an early student of Christian Science, I was taught the way to heal oneself is to feel as if I was always existing in the perfection of God’s image and likeness.  That is exactly how I healed myself, time and time again.  I moved out of the belief that I was sick, and back into the feeling of gratitude for being healthy.  I never questioned whether or not God wanted me to be healthy!  If I had been created in the image and likeness of perfection, obviously, that is what my Creator wanted me to be.  I never decided the disease was a form of punishment or a lesson to be learned.  I recognized it was nothing more than an erroneous belief I’d accepted.  I took full responsibility for the cause, but did not linger there.  I had momentarily slipped into separation consciousness, but I always had the option of remembering, once again, that there was no way I could be apart from that which I AM.  God is infinite and eternal.  I can’t “get out of” perfection.  That is simply an illusory belief.  God isn’t about suffering.  God is only absolute Love.  As I expanded this feeling of gratitude out from my heart center, my body responded, instantly.  I was healed.

Now, decades later, science is revealing this is precisely how it works.  Bravo, Mary Baker Eddy!  You were well ahead of your time.  But it wasn’t only Christian Scientists that understood how this works.  Many other traditions and cultures have also understood this for thousands of years.  In the western, Christian world, however, we decided only “we” knew how to communicate properly with God, as we were obviously God’s chosen people.  Funny thing is, other cultures across the oceans were believing exactly the same thing about their religious understanding.

I ask you, with great love, please look again.  It is not just Christian prayers that are answered.  It is not just Muslims experiencing miracles.  Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Native American shamans, African witch doctors, voodoo practitioners and yes, sometimes atheists also report miraculous healings.  We simply cannot deny this evidence any longer.  Clearly, this knowledge does not belong to any one group or culture.  It is universal in application.  It works for anyone who uses it…regardless of religious affiliations, ethnicity, gender, or class.  Perhaps that, more than anything else, proves it to be the one to follow.

In a world starving for unification, we have, at this very moment, the means to bring peace, harmony, health and joy to every single person on the planet.  It is no longer a mystery, and to deny the promise of a better world by acting as if we are still searching for revelation is the truest form of blasphemy I know.  I have to wonder if it is the rush of excitement in the journey we crave, rather than the destination.  We are standing on the mountaintop looking for the peak.  Are we disappointed that the thousands of years we wandered in the desert seeking a mysterious method for manifesting miracles only ended where we began?  We expected to find an unknown, mystical 7-part process for manifesting miracles, but are we now disappointed to realize it is a singular act of realization that has been available all along?  Why are we still in denial?  The proof is all around us…we are living proof.

To clarify, once again…we do not have to continue searching for a method that will move mountains, heal the sick and raise the dead.  We know how.  FEEL it, as if it were already done.  This is why Christ Jesus insisted the one wanting healing must first believe in it.  It must be felt with absolute faith (understanding).  If we have doubts, we will block what we want to receive, because we are declaring we don’t have it.  We can’t lie about what we feel, in other words.  We must clear away all non-congruent beliefs, first, and once that is achieved, we are aligned with what we want to attract into our experience of life.  We are then in a state of acceptance, and we manifest into our lives whatever it is that matches that signal.  If we want to be healthy, we must FEEL gratitude for already being healthy.  If we want to feel prosperous, we must BECOME prosperity.  If we want a nurturing relationship, we are going to have to FEEL it into being.  Everything must be felt as if it is already ours.  It is!

This is how we communicate with the field (God) that underlies all.  God doesn’t respond to our thoughts or emotions. We do not need to “talk” to God.  God doesn’t have giant ears.  God responds to our feelings…the combination of thoughts and emotions that merges from the heart.  If we want fast results, we must come from a profound feeling of gratitude, emanating from the heart center…the most powerful electromagnetic force field of the body.  In essence, we are bursting with gratitude for the miracle, as if already received.

Because we have conditioned ourselves to become a society of humans doing rather than humans being, we sense a need to do something in order to receive.  We certainly have the option of making this more difficult than necessary, but in all honesty, the best way to manifest miracles is through understanding who we really are.  God, Being.  When we finally awaken to the Truth of our unlimited, eternal and infinite connection, we remember our perfection.  We aren’t merely paying lip service to the idea of oneness, we are Being it.  There is no separation between us and God.  God is all…in all.  However, if that seems blasphemous, then go back to “doing” by finding ways to put yourself into a state of bliss as often as possible.  As you send out the feeling of enormous gratitude, joy and love, you call all good into expression.

My suggestions for doing?  Well, here are four suggestions:

  • Heart-based meditations where you put yourself into a state of bliss, by feeling GRATITUDE and connection with God.  Use sounds, smells, candles, chants, or whatever it takes to move you into that state of Being.
  • Becoming “as a child” (just like Christ Jesus suggested–Matthew 18:3 “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”) by reactivating your creative, right-brained FUN center (i.e., stop being an adult and just go out and PLAY for a while–doing so will make you laugh again),
  • Subconscious suggestion during twilight reverie–stating your intention and feeling as though you already have it, just prior to falling asleep.  You want to fall asleep with the FEELING of it as already yours.
  • And EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to clear out any blocks you have to receiving whatever it is you want.

If you will practice these things, daily, you will reprogram the way you experience life.  You will find yourself feeling more and more blissful, each day.  In time, you won’t have to “do” anything…you will simply “be” joy and love.  As you become it, it moves to you and shows up in every aspect of your life experience.

We are living during a rare cycle of time–one that occurs only once every few thousand years, moving into a major planetary shift in our human evolution.  We are standing in the doorway of massive change.  As in past times, yet again, we have an incredible opportunity to do the right thing.  Will we?

This moment in time offers us the opportunity to take a giant leap forward in spiritual growth.  All we need is 8,000 humans, Being, but those who intend to play a major role in this shift must act now, and act quickly.  There is no time for delay!  If we want to participate in the shift of consciousness that will move us into the experience of Heaven on Earth, we must reclaim our power and focus on our own healing, now.  The world needs us.  Mother Earth is beckoning us, gathering the flock and beseeching us to begin the work we came to do.  Do you hear the call?  The day is drawing near, and we simply cannot procrastinate any longer.  We must integrate this method of FEELING into our way of being.

Eight thousand healers is all it takes.  Will you be one of them?

Drinking Water Causes Cancer

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 10:48 am

drinking-water.jpg   Some of the top physicists in the world now think our entire world is simply our projection or external images of our internal experience and what we believe our world to be. In other words, the world we live in is nothing more than our collective lucid dream. Now this is not science fiction… This is leading-edge science!
~James Ray~

Got your attention with the title, didn’t I?  LOL

I woke up this morning to hear, on the national news channels, it has now been determined that if women drink even one alcoholic beverage each day, they are putting themselves at risk for several kinds of cancer.  Fortunately for me, I stopped drinking alcohol over twenty years ago, huh?  But hearing this news made me chuckle, as I watched the stunned faces of the women who were discussing this new report.  Wasn’t it just a few short years ago we were told to drink one glass of red wine, every day, to help keep the heart healthy?  It seems one year we are being told that something is good for us, and just a few short years later we discover it is just the opposite.  What and who exactly can we believe?

The bottom line is that whatever we believe to be true becomes our truth, and sadly, we tend to buy into the beliefs of others far too quickly…especially if we assume them to be some type of “authority” on the subject.  How odd it is to discover the only one who is an authority on truth is the self, and more…that truth can only be true for that person!

Last week, when I went to a book study group in San Marcos, I strolled in with my dinner of Mentos and a Coke Zero.  As I scanned the room, I noticed I was the only one with any type of “forbidden” fruit.  Everyone else was dutifully sipping on bottled water.  I pointed out that, in my beliefs, I’ve decided Coke Zero isn’t bad for me, so I choose to drink it.  I’m sure that had to shock some people…more than likely a few were thinking how irresponsible and “wrong” my belief is.  I understand.

Years ago, I read the Seth books, by Jane Roberts.  I remembering laughing and laughing at the irreverence of this amazing woman.  The most unlikely person in the world became a conduit for channeling, and she hated every minute of it.  I recall, in one of her books, where she was speaking with an elderly man…well into his 90s…about his disgusting habit of smoking.  She, too, was a smoker.  It was hard to believe that he had lived such a long and healthy life, in spite of his addiction to cigarettes.  She asked him how he was able to continue to smoke, without any physical effects, and he explained that he simply believed they caused him no harm.  Her guides confirmed that it was his beliefs that enabled him to do what most people couldn’t.  Now, I’m not recommending that we go out and consume massive quantities of unhealthy food or addictive substances, because I don’t think this would work for the vast majority of people.  Most have bought into collective ideas about what is good and not good, and consuming things that the subconscious mind has learned is bad will only cause harm.  That one particular man was an exception to the rule.  He had no counter beliefs to sabotage what he had determined was true for him.  My point is simply this…our beliefs are creating our worldly experience.

Sometimes, in my most upbeat moments, I imagine a day when we will no longer buy into beliefs that don’t serve us.  I envision a world where we design each moment as magically delicious.  We all believe we are perfect, beautiful, abundant, happy, prosperous, and healthy.  Perhaps that more closely resembles what we call Heaven, and perhaps that is exactly why such a “place” exists.  There is a part of us that recognizes we have this ability.  Unfortunately, when we came up with this paradise called Heaven, we also attached an amendment that says the only way to get there is to live a good life and then die!  Hmmmm…well, at least Christ Jesus didn’t agree.  He told us we can have it here and now.

Knowing that we are the designers of our destiny, we always have the option of choosing well.  But to do so, we are going to first have to wake up from the dream long enough to realize it is just that…a dream.  We have to stop living as though the life around us is outside our control–as if it operates off of another system that we cannot access.  Most importantly, we need to understand the illusory nature of it all.

People tend to shy away from the word illusion, because it doesn’t make sense to call solid, physical objects illusions.  The problem is in the interpretation of that word.  To simplify, we just need to get clear that the experience of all this absolutely does appear to be reality.  As has been said, if we step out in front of a moving truck, the physical body is going to be flattened!  Why?  Because we are operating from two experiences…a dense, heavy vibration and a light, airy one.  In our dense version, we agreed on rules that tell us objects are solid.  But almost everyone, today, knows that solid objects are not solid, nor are they fixed.  Looking into the quantum field, we magnified objects to such a degree, we discovered that what appears to be a solid, fixed table is really vast amounts of empty space with vibrating particles of energy popping in and out of our awareness.  The truth is…we are all walking around, sitting on, and standing in empty space for the most part.  Not to worry, though.  The whole thing–including our bodies–is just a projected image, anyway, so we aren’t going to fall through space.  There is an underlying field of dark energy (the something of nothingness) that holds it all in place.  Yep…fortunately for us, we have a remarkably intelligent designer who covered all the bases.

Is it possible that the world “out there” is not as fixed as we’ve come to believe?  Yes!  We are learning more and more about this, each and every day.  We are starting to understand that the forms we experience as physical are projections in our minds.  It is all just perception.  We are observing our environment and translating photons of light/energy into the experience of solid objects.  To top it all off, we got lost in our own creation, and we forgot it isn’t really even out there. The entire universe is within the imagination.

As we experience being in this world, we make up rules and truths along the way.  The more of us that accept those beliefs, the more “truth” about them is placed into the collective dream.  Here and there, some reject the collective ideas, however, and challenges offer opportunities to replace old ideas with new ones.  In every moment of every day, we have the option to change what we have believed to be absolute truth.  In doing so, we discover the world around us changes.

I strongly reccomend that we all take a good long look at what we’ve accepted as truth.  Are the beliefs operating our lives promoting our health, welfare and happiness?  If not, we have the option of replacing them with new ones.  With EFT, we can remove the background beliefs that hold us back, and then replace them with new perceptions that grant us the lives we always dreamed of having.  It absolutely works…and that is one truth I’m holding onto!

So, ladies…what’s it gonna be?  Are we going to simply agree with this new “fact” that one glass of alcohol per day is a major risk factor for numerous cancers?  Or will we determine that our own truth rejects that idea?  The most important thing to keep in mind is that we have the freedom to decide what is true for each of us.  We do not have to accept ideas that cause us harm.  In the end, I suppose what we are returning to is the debate on whether the universe we live in supports or harms us.

I don’t know about you, but in my world, everything works in my favor!  Oh…and that thing about water causing cancer?  Not true!

Tag, You’re It!

children-playing.jpg   A couple of years ago, after I returned from the filming for Try It On Everything, I had to make a tough decision.  I could continue trying to help loved ones (mostly family) with their issues, or I could divert my attention to myself and those outside my known community.  For most of my life, I had spent vast amounts of my time, money and energy doing all I could to help the ones in the family who counted on me, but I realized, during the course of filming, that my efforts were unappreciated, and…well, unwanted…for the most part.  I needed to choose between what was good for them (from my own biased viewpoint) and what was good for me.

For many of us, there is a day of reckoning where we realize we’ve spent a good deal of our lives trying to “fix” other people.  Let’s be honest.  This primarily comes from the ego…the need to be right.  We decide we know how to solve the issues of other people, and we do all we can to convince them that our way is better than theirs.  Why do we feel this urge to manage their lives so strongly?  It is because of our own pain!  Nonetheless, we don’t do what needs to be done to heal ourselves, we just keep projecting this pain outwardly onto others.  But how do they respond to this?  In most cases, they grow to resent our efforts.  Yes, when they need something from us, they tend to heap massive amounts of praise and promise on us, but as soon as we have given them what they want, they go right back to doing things as usual.  Because we saw some glimmer of hope flashing in front of our eager eyes, we took that as an invitation to continue trying to fix them.  Sigh…if only we could remember how many times this has played out badly!  I know…this time will be different, right?  Wrong.  I know, without our help they will put themselves in danger and cause harm to themselves and others.  They will do so, anyway…with or without our help.  They will only change when and if they choose to do so.  Nothing we can do will alter another person’s reality.  So what is our role in this?

What I’ve learned is that any type of coercing in life is a clue to step away.  If things begin to feel like struggle, then that is a clear sign of resistance.  If a neon sign could be inserted here, it would yell out, “Danger!  Warning!  Do not enter!”  Blinded by our desire to help others, however, we overlook all the obvious signs, and barrel right into hell with our basket of halos that no one wants. We will say the same things we’ve said a thousand times before.  We will point out all the obvious.  We will rationalize and attempt to reason.  We will reward and punish.  We will push and pull.  In the end, we will walk away, filled with anxiety and frustration, unable to understand why they can’t see things the way we do.  How easy it is to forget their perceptions are based on their own experiences…not ours.

Again and again, people come to me to ask how they can change others.  I always answer, “You can’t.”  I know, I know…I, too, learned it the hard way.  But I finally got it.  It is pointless to focus on others.  The only one we can fix is the self.  So, you are then wondering what possible good can that do when it is THEM with the problems, not us!  I will tell you to look again.  If “they” are in your experience, and what they do upsets you, then clearly, you also have a problem.  What can you do?  You can alter your perception of the circumstances and change the reaction you have to others.  In doing so, miraculously, “they” change as well.  Either they move out of your experience, or they respond to you in a different manner.  Why?  Because you no longer need them to show you something you couldn’t see in yourself.  Ironically, the only way you can change the way others show up in your life is to stop trying to change them.  Change yourself.

Even though this new way of dealing with others will feel, at first, like you are betraying them and yourself, in time, you will understand it was the best thing you ever did for them…and for yourself!  As we focus on our own actions and reactions, we heal the wounds of the past.  We move into the present moment and begin to live our lives as they were intended…with joy!  Once we have taken back the power we’ve given to our loved ones and reclaimed our true destinies, we begin to walk a new path that best reflects who we came to be.  In essence, we honor the God within us.

There is no better way to show up in this world than to show up with your integrity intact.  Be yourself…above all else.  Give up trying to control that which doesn’t want to be controlled.  Respond only to those who willingly come to you for comfort, advice, and healing.  It will change everything.  You will feel the appreciation you deserve and you will release the anxiety of struggle.  I know this isn’t easy.  The ego will fight you, all the way.  It wants and needs to be right.  It wants justification and power over others.  It will put out all the stops to keep you locked in this war that can’t be won.  But recognize this is only the call of a pain-body that hasn’t been healed.  Not theirs…yours!

Once we return to the original source of our pain, and we soothe and comfort the inner child who is still hurting, we release the need to live for others.  We no longer need their approval and attention.  All that time we were working so hard to get others to see things our way, we were denying our own freedom.  We tethered ourselves to the repressed and projected portions of ourselves that we didn’t want to claim as our own.  Once we owned them, and forgave ourselves, the chains gave way to wings.  Give to yourself that which others won’t give to you.  You have the ability to do so.  Ultimately, you will discover you are the only one who ever had that power.  If it is love and approval you seek…give it to yourself!

What a burden was lifted from my shoulders the day I took back my power!  Finally, I was able to do all the things in life I had denied myself.  I felt enormously appreciated as I offered my gifts to those who truly wanted to receive what I offered.  The struggle ceased because I was no longer pushing against those who never really wanted to hear what I had to say.  It no longer mattered what had happened in the past, because I was living in the now.  My wounds had fully healed because I healed myself.  I loved myself.  I appreciated myself.  As my focus moved back to me, my understanding of who I came to be grew a thousand-fold.  No longer placing my own life on the back burner in an attempt to save others, I was now living a life of passion and purpose.  Do you know what a huge difference that makes?

Listen to the inner child in your heart.  What does he or she need from you?  That child has been crying out for your attention for years.  In an desperate attempt to lighten the pain-body, you looked outwardly, to others, to come rescue the child.  All along, you could have done it yourself…you were the only one who could know that child so intimately.  Reach out and take that child’s hand in your own.  Give yourself the love, attention, and acceptance until the cup is running over with joy!  Put that child in your heart and carry him or her with you for the remainder of your life.  Fulfill the dreams the child desires.  Become the person he or she wanted to be when grown up.  Laugh, play, enjoy, and most of all, love.

Yes!  Empowered and innocent as a child on the playground called Earth, now you are living the life you came to live!  You didn’t come here to fix them.  You came to play.  Tag…you’re it!!

Two for One

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 10:27 am

subconsious-overself.jpg   When people want to bring about a change in their lives, they often find it much more difficult than they hoped.  It seems they do all the right things to think good thoughts, focus on positive and follow through with action, and yet their dreams elude them.  What’s that all about?

In every case I know of, the problem is that the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are not working in harmony.  The conscious, thinking mind is mapping out all the plans and doing everything possible to bring the manifestation into fruition, but the subconscious mind is simply not on board.  Worse still, the more effort put into forcing it to align with the conscious desires, the further away the dream moves!  In short, the subconscious mind cannot be controlled by the conscious mind, and trying to make it comply is only reinforcing a state of conflict.

Dr. Joseph Murphy, in his book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind,  talks about a famous French psychologist, Emile Coue’,  who purported “When your desires (conscious mind) and imagination (subconscious mind) are in conflict, your imagination invariably gains the day.”  He named this “the law of reverse effort.”

He explains by showing how a narrow wooden plank, laid flat on the floor, is easily walked across.  However, when the plank is placed twenty feet in the air, the task becomes much more difficult.  It is the same plank and the same challenge, and yet, fear changes everything.  He writes:

Your desire to walk the length of the plank would come into conflict with your imagination.  You would imagine yourself toppling off the plank and falling a long way to the ground.  You might very much want to walk across the plank, but your fear of falling would keep you from being able to do it.  The more effort you put into conquering your imagination or suppressing it, the greater strength is given to the dominant idea of falling.

The thought “I will use my willpower to overcome my failure,” reinforces the thought of failure.  Mental effort often leads to self-defeat, creating the opposite of what is desired.  To focus on the need to exert willpower is to emphasize the condition of powerlessness.  It is like deciding that you will do all you can not to think of a green hippopotamus.  The decision makes the idea of a green hippo dominate the mind, and the subconscious always responds more to the dominant idea.  Your subconscious will accept the stronger of two contradictory propositions.

Manifestation, when properly practiced, is always effortless.  It comes from what some people call “being in the zone.”  Thinking is minimal and feeling is optimal.  It must be!  If willpower is set upon it, it will fail.  Why?  Because the subconscious mind is a million times more powerful than the conscious mind, and trying to reason with it will never, ever work.  Suggestions to the subconscious mind can only be introduced during a relaxed, drowsy, hypnotic-like state.  More importantly, it must be accompanied with a feeling of grateful anticipation, as though the manifestation were already complete.

Murphy brings an interesting twist to a very familiar Bible verse:

If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.  (Matthew 18:19)

Murphy suggests the two spoken of are the harmonious union of the subconscious and conscious mind!  He says, “When there is no longer any quarrel between the different parts of your mind, your prayer will be answered.”

Science has now proven that heart-based feelings communicate with the field of Pure Consciousness.  Bartering, begging, pleading, and speaking to Divine Mind are not direct lines to God.  Our feelings are!  If we pay close attention to what we are feeling, throughout the day, we will immediately know what we are asking for.  If we are “asking” for sorrow, lack, disease, fear, guilt, anger or any other negative emotion, God cannot respond to that.  The Source of goodness does not offer such things.  However, if we lift our vibrations into the higher realms of Love, every good thing we want is immediately poured into our experience.

Many people say our entire bodies are the subconsious mind…we are the biology of our beliefs.  If that is so, then we should be paying very close attention to what our bodies are saying to us.  Wherever we have a problem, disease, or tension, we must note the connection to our beliefs and remove those blocks.  We store our negative beliefs all over our bodies, and if we repress them long enough, they will ultimately emerge into our reality as some type of problem.  On the other hand, we can also turn to the body as a communication source between ourselves and Pure Consciousness.  When we feel inspiration through an expansion of love in our hearts, a lump in our throats, a tickle in the stomach, or an “ah ha” moment in the third eye chakra, we are, at long last, hearing the voice of God.  Listen to the body…God is speaking through it constantly.  As we align the subconscious mind to Divine Mind, our lives become the masterpieces they were always meant to be.

Every time we make one decision, a second, third, fourth, fifth, and countless others are made at the same time, because possibilities are unlimited.  In this world, we only experience one at a time…the one we focus on.  However, at any point, we can change our minds.  If we do, we can call back one of the choices we originally discounted.  How?  We do it with our heart-based feelings…vibration.  When we hold the image (unchallenged by the subconscious mind) of what we desire as “already done,” a vortex opens between one parallel universe to the next, and the new choice pours into this current reality.  Nothing is more powerful than feeling intense gratitude for what we want as if we already have it.

When we are struggling to manifest our desires, we have a clear conflict between the conscious and subconscious mind.  Funny thing is, these thoughts are nothing but our beliefs.  We always have the option of changing what we believe, but we will never be able to do this by simply trying to talk ourselves into it.  To reprogram a subconscious belief, we must be in a suggestive state of mind.  We locate and remove the non-serving belief, and place a new, better-serving one in its place.  For me, nothing works faster or more profoundly than the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).  I’ve witnessed stunning changes in those who use it, and it is always remarkable to see how dramatically lives change once the two minds are acting as one.  After congruency is achieved, the client can easily hold a new vision of themselves as if they already have what it is they desire, and quickly, it moves into alignment with this new vibration being offered.

If you are still struggling to manifest your goals and dreams, I suggest you take a good, hard look at your subconscious beliefs.  More than likely, they are interfering with your desires.  Mortal mind (ego) will not go gently into the good night.  It will rage and wage war against Divine Mind.  For far too long, it has been granted too much freedom in running your life, so asking it to step aside will require devotion and persistence on your part.  I suggest you make a commitment to yourself…to follow through, in spite of what the world “out there” is telling you.  If you do, you will be dazzled by your own empowerment.

In the end, what you will come to realize is that knowing who you are and by what authority you speak is the only thing you ever had to remember.  Once you know…you will never again forget.  The two minds give way to the One.

The Discovery Statement

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 11:46 am

energy-meridians.jpg   Last night, I attended a book study group in San Marcos.  They are reviewing Gary Craig’s The EFT Manual.  Toward the end of the evening, an interesting discussion arose about what Craig refers to as the “Discovery Statement.”  It states:

The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.

Aside from the fact that the statement is rather bold, it also has some loopholes.  As the discussion progressed, it became much like the “which came first, the chicken or the egg” dilemma.  I knew I had to look into this in more detail, because I felt very uncomfortable with the overall implication of the statement.  I’ve studied some of Dr. Bruce Lipton’s work, along with a lot of books on the subconscious mind, so it is hard for me not to include this knowledge in my discussion of this, let alone my decades of metaphysical understanding!

I explained to the group that I, personally, always look at things from two perspectives:  physical and metaphysical.  It is impossible to look at anything from just one perspective, while I’m in human form.  On one hand, we are taught that everything is energy…which cannot be created or destroyed…and on the other hand, if everything is made in the image and likeness of God, and God is spiritual, then energy and all the forms of it are just illusions. (I call it “illusion” in reference to how we are translating what we see…and I’m not saying that energy doesn’t exist…or am I?  LOL). To me, how we perceive things is the root cause of everything.  With infinite possibilities, it is our observation of one of them that causes it to appear to be singular.  That isn’t really true, however, as all the other possibilities still remain in formless expression.  Like Christ said, “It is done unto you as you believe.’

We must remember this, as well.  We are born with two innate fears:  the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises.  The two fears we have from birth, however, lie dormant, until triggered.  Is that true of all negative emotions?  I believe it is.

Taking into consideration both aspects of “reality,” I stated that I believe the cause of negative emotions is merely the resistance of good.  With infinite possibilities lying in front of us, we have the option to choose our experiences.  The decision to resist good, in and of itself, is not negative, but resisting good immediately results in the feeling of separation from it, which we interpret as negative (fearful).  In other words, our perception of separation creates fear, which expresses itself in the various other negative forms (anger, resentment, jealousy, sorrow, lack, etc.).  It arises in the idea of separation from Source…which, of course, isn’t really possible, but it “feels” that way.  It startles us.  What is that feeling of being startled?  That feeling of being startled is an energetic disruption triggered in the energy system (the perception of temporary disconnection from All That Is–fear–is recorded in physical form as an energetic disruption), but it must be preceded by a perception.  With that said, I went back to the EFT manual and reviewed what is said.  What I found was somewhat contradictory, controversial and yet interesting.

Just after the “Discovery Statement” is offered, Craig offers evidence by using an example of a woman named Mary whose water phobia was instantly removed as she tapped under her eye for stomach discomfort.  This woman had been a patient of Dr. Roger Callahan for a year and a half, and he had not been able to relieve her fear of water.  Craig writes:

When she was experiencing her fear, the energy flowing through her stomach meridian was disrupted.  That energy imbalance is what was causing her emotional intensity.  Tapping under her eyes sent pulses through the meridian and fixed the disruption.  It balanced it out.  Once the energy meridian was balanced the emotional intensity…the fear…went away.

Craig also provides a graphic example to further elaborate on how this happens.  He provides three steps as to how a negative emotion is caused:

  1. Distressing Memory

  2. (The Intermediate Step) A disruption in the body’s energy system, or “zzzzzzt” as he calls it

  3. Negative emotion

Hmmmm.  Well, clearly, looking at both of those ideas, it shows that the disruption isn’t the original cause of the emotion.  In fact, he offers that Mary first experienced fear, and that caused the disruption of energy, which intensified the emotion.  In other words, the disruption in the body’s energy system adds an “emotional charge” to the negative perception.  Craig, himself, acknowledges that a “distressing memory” precedes the disruption, and he calls the disruption “The Intermediate Step.”

We can further confuse ourselves when we also recall that experiments performed decades ago on patients undergoing brain surgery showed that when a person’s finger is pricked,  the brain records the stimulus simultaneously, and then the signal travels to the finger telling it to react.  It is not happening the other way around.  Could this be what happens with emotional pain, as well?

To add to the confusion, we have to consider that Dr. Callahan was not addressing the water phobia problem when it cleared.  He was working with her stomach discomfort.  As he tapped on the meridian associated with the stomach, the underlying cause of the discomfort–her fear of water–was addressed, inadvertently.  To top that off, her headaches and nightmares also disappeared!  Looking at this, in retrospect, we see that the tapping balanced the meridian, which decreased the emotional intensity, which deactivated the charge on the fear, which allowed the body to return to a healthy state.

The best way I can illustrate my thoughts on this is to liken this to an electrical switch in a home.  Clearly, the electricity is already there.  However, someone comes along and perceives the room to be dark.  That perception causes them to move the switch to the “on” position, which activates the electrical charge.  If the person decides they want to turn the light off, it would be pointless to talk to the switch, asking it to turn off.  Rather, action must be taken to remove the charge.  Once the switch is moved back to the “off” position, the charge returns to a background possibility.

All in all, I think a better way to describe how this works is to think of the “zzzzzzt” that occurs as the recorded version of a negative perception.  When we perceive something as negative (resist good), our body’s natural flow is disrupted, because we took ourselves out of vibrational alignment with good.  This is perceived as separation, which ignites negative emotions.  For example, let’s say we fell off of a tall ladder.  In doing so, we activated that fear of falling which was already stored in the solar plexus (stomach) at birth.  That disruption (negative emotion, i.e., fear) is recorded as a “zzzzzzt.” Once we activate these currents, anything else that comes along that matches that particular vibration will trigger the original one and call to it anything that aligns with it.  So, the fear we felt when we fell off the ladder matches the fear already stored in the solar plexus, so it adds another charge to the fear of falling.  It joins with like fears, all nicely stored in the solar plexus.  Over decades, we record hundreds and hundreds of these “zzzzzzt” disruptions, building on top of one another.  When the storage bin reaches overload, it explodes into a disease (stomach disorder) or a problem that causes the person to feel discomfort in the stomach area.  When the patient taps on the meridian that is attached to the stomach (under the eye), the energy block/disruption is repaired.  Repairing the disruption could also result in removing the fear of falling off of a ladder, because that disruption is stored in that same location.  However, if the patient wants to clear out ALL disruptions, permanently, the original fear must be addressed.  What is it?  The fear of falling that comes with us at birth.  Where did that fear originate?  It comes from the perception of separation.  Remove that belief, and all fear would dissipate.  The patient is now back in alignment with God, vibrating on the highest levels of good.

In conclusion…whew!…I would have to say I take issue with the statement that “the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.”  Close…but not quite there, in my humble opinion.  To me, the cause of all negative emotions is the perception of separation from God’s good.  Once this belief is activated, it registers/records as a negative emotional charge (a “zzzzzzt”) which is then stored as a disruption (block) in the energy system in the body.  Tapping on the various meridian points sends electrical signals throughout the body, and these currents repair disruptions and put us back into vibrational alignment with good.  When an EFT practitioner has a client relive a painful memory, it serves to pinpoint where in the body the disruption is stored.  Once this is revealed, the client can then focus on that area of the body, thereby directing attention (energy) to that particular location.  Even though only one memory is being recalled, all negative incidents that were stored in that area after that initial event are also collapsed, because they are held in the same area.  Thus, more than one unexpected benefit can result!

EFT is still in the early stages of scientific understanding, but those who advocate its use have no problem singing the praises of this healing modality.  Regardless of how or why it works, one thing is for certain.  It does work!  To me, adding the metaphysical component to the understanding of these techniques is the best way to demonstrate exactly what is going on, but just as with all universal principles, one is not required to understand in order to reap the rewards.

So…what are you waiting for?  Go ahead.  Try it on everything!

Dam Stress

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 10:15 am

stress-1.jpg   Research says that 90-95% of disease is caused by stress.  This stress is recorded in our energy system, eventually showing up in our bodies.  As more and more people are recognizing this, they are turning to energy medicine for answers, because these blocks are almost always subconscious traumas we suffered in early childhood.  When we took on a negative belief, and it wasn’t properly corrected, it was stored in our cellular memory.  As we age, we activate this energy, time and again, with more and more evidence to support that belief.  Just like a dam that must finally give way to the increasing pressure, the energy erupts as a physical ailment or outward problem, triggered by years and years of stressful living.

The top ten stress contributors are:

  • Death of a spouse
  • Divorce
  • Separation in marriage
  • A term in jail
  • The death of a relative
  • Illness and injury
  • Marriage
  • Being fired from a job
  • Reconciliation in marriage
  • Retirement

With EFT, we trace the problem back to the original source, because we understand that applying a bandage to the effect will only delay its arrival.  Suffering might ease for a while, but it will only return in another form if the cause of the problem is not addressed.  For example, if we are fired from a job, we might think our anxiety is about not having enough money, but more than likely, it comes from a belief we programmed into ourselves in childhood that reminds us we just “aren’t good enough.”  If the core issue is not located and dealt with, the problem will continue to cause problems in other situations where we activate that memory of not being good enough.

Often, people worry about activating old memories that cause suffering.  They believe if we uncover them, we will do more harm than good.  Not so!  Those memories are already activated, we simply haven’t been aware of it.  We live out our lives operating from the early beliefs we learned in childhood, and the very acts of repression and projection are the source of our stress.  Only when we bring them to the surface can we clear them, once and for all.

People who suffer with chronic stress become sensitized over time, and finally, even the smallest incidents trigger major episodes of chemical reactions in the body.  Enormous amounts of cortisol and adrenaline (stress hormones) flood the system, keeping us in a fearful state of fight or flight for extended periods of time.  These chemicals can damage everything from the cardiovascular system to our immune response.  It has even been linked to the inability to conceive and stunted growth in children.  Along with physical problems, it can also lead to mental issues like depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

When clients come to me for healing, I immediately have them face the issues they’ve been denying.  Why?  Because I know this is the real problem…not the outward effects.  If we are going to heal the underlying problem, we have to “own” all the problematic people, issues and circumstances in our lives.  In other words, it is never about them…it is always about us.  Once we locate and address the negative beliefs, we release ourselves from the suffering.

Tapping on specific energy meridian points while in a negative state is, in my opinion, the best way to clear this stress from our systems.  Every time we do this, we chip away at the blocks that we’ve allowed to grow for so long.  Depending on how much we’ve stored, this can be done quickly or it may take some time.  The catch is…we must continue to tap until all resistance is cleared.  Imagine digging  our way out of a tunnel, only to stop a few feet from freedom!

Remember…our physical bodies are nothing more than vibrating energy.  If we can balance and restore a positive flow, we can return to health and wholeness.

Never ignore stress!  The body is screaming for attention, and the only way to clear it, once and for all, is to eliminate the source belief that is being reflected in every mirror we see.

Tap on it!

It’s Time To Wake Up!

Filed under: My Thoughts — jodi @ 11:12 am

waking-up.jpg   As my children were growing up, one of my main duties was to awaken them, every morning, so they could get ready for school.  I would tap softly on the door, and then quietly enter the room.  As they started to stir, I would sing a cheerful little song about how “it’s time to get up in the morning.”  I still have no idea where that song came from.  Did I make it up or was it on some children’s show?  Either way, my motherly instinct told me it was important to start their day by gently arousing them with a happy greeting.

To this day, that seems to be one of my primary purposes in life.  I offer words and stories, always looking to see if a stirring occurs that moves that person into awakening.  I noticed, this morning, where a man refers to himself as “an awakening coach.”  I liked the description, but I also know awakening comes only from Grace, not mankind.  It cannot be forced, taught or predicted.  It comes when we are ready.  We, however, can offer our own experiences and understanding to others to see if that serves as a catalyst for their awakening.  Often, that is exactly how it begins…as an “ah ha” moment arising from the sudden recognition of what has always been true.

I love Eckhart Tolle’s definition of awakening.  He refers to it as “a shift in consciousness in which thinking and awareness separate.”  He goes on to say it is generally a process, not an event.  I agree with that.  For some people it comes suddenly, but then expands quickly into many realms, and for others it comes slowly, as they leisurely stretch and yawn and lightly doze.  But how do you know if you are awake?

The best way to know is to see if you are still living life as if it is happening “to” you.  Are you experiencing everything around you as though you are a separate human being at the mercy of the events and people you interact with.  Are you so involved in the illusion, you’ve forgotten you are actually sitting in the audience watching it?

At our Second Saturday class, this past weekend, I cautiously showed a small portion of the film LEAP! to the participants. (If you are interested in buying the DVD, you can click on the link I have added on the right-hand side of my blog page, and it will take you right to a shopping cart for purchase.)  I say cautiously because sometimes understanding how life is just an illusion shocks people to the point they refuse to know!  It frightens them to think that the world “out there” is nothing but a projection viewed on the tiny screen of the brain called the visual cortex.  “The universe lies within” is finally realized as truth.  What seems to be trillions of light years apart, in essence, fits into a space about the size of a business card.  It’s even more frightening when they realize the visual cortex is also illusion.  The illusion appears so real, and we live as though it is absolute.  But once seen as mysterious electrons popping in and out of awareness, how we see “all this” changes.  Everything we know about the outer world becomes shaky.  As Einstein himself said, “Reality is merely an illusion; albeit, a very persistent one.”

We are very attached to our material, physical world.  Many people go their entire lives seeing nothing else.  These are people who are completely lost in the ego mind.  With blinders on, they walk through life not realizing how much more they could have known.  They never stop to ask themselves who they really are.  They never figure out that “others” are projections of their own minds…in other words, everyone I see outside of me is a mirror image of me.  If I like the other person, that is an aspect I’ve identified with myself.  If I don’t like the other person (their behavior), that is an aspect I’ve projected outwardly, but it is mine, nonetheless.  There is only ONE of us.  Who exactly is it that is living as the self?

I like to demonstrate this by asking people to close their eyes and see if they can sense the location of their hands…not by moving or touching them, but just by being aware of a sensation of “hand.”  Once they do that, I ask, “Who is aware that you have hands?”  Of course, at first, they want to reply that they know it in the mind…the brain.  Well, yes, the brain has an electrical connection with the hand, but who is behind the brain’s physical sensation, conscious of what is being thought?  Who is the one who is simply aware, observing…the one who rests in stillness, noticing, without thought?  If the person is awake, they sense a definite separation between the thinking mind and the one who is simply observing the thoughts.  The thinking mind is active…busy doing.  The aware Mind rests in being.

You might wonder, why is it so important to be in an awakened state anyway?  The greatest benefit is that it moves you from being a victim to living as an empowered being.  From awareness, life is effortless and enjoyable…all of it!  You know that if you don’t like what is happening, you can change it by changing your perception.  As you get better and better at this…more and more awakened…life is joyful.  From this understanding, you remember that life is not happening to you, but through you.  How fun is that?

On the other hand, awareness can also be troubling to newcomers.  Once aware and present, useless “monkey-mind” thinking seems pointless and mundane.  It becomes our intent to operate from a higher level of consciousness.  However, as people move from slumber to awakening, there may be a sense of confusion.  They sometimes begin to ask, “What’s the point of even being here if it is just an illusion?”  They feel very disconnected with the illusory world, and are not fully merged with Pure Consciousness, so they feel as if they are suspended in some weird purgatory, doomed to wander until death.

The point of being here is BEING.  That’s it.  We have to separate ideas of doing from being.  We feel we are meant to do something important, but the most important thing you will ever do is to be.  Where you are and at what point in your life you are here is of no significance.  In reality, you are everywhere, eternally.  You always have been.  Be very present in each and every moment.  That is all.  If you can do that, you create the space for God to live through you, as you.  You are no longer competing with God to be you.  You’ve surrendered to that which you are.

If someone is talking to you, listen.  Really listen!  Be in the present moment, hearing only.  Don’t let the mind start formulating replies and counter-arguments.  Don’t let ego take you to past memories where you can instruct and advise. Just listen.  If someone asks you to “be there” for them, that is truly all they want.  As you are reading these words, do nothing but read them.  Don’t allow the ego to carry you away to another time and place where you might use these words on others.  Just sit and read…absorb.  Be.  The more you practice being, the less you feel the urge to do.  In time, you remember who it is living through you, and you let go of the need to instruct, guide and advise.  And maybe, just maybe, reading these words will stir the recognition of who you are, and you will begin to awaken.  Instantaneously, the words you offer come from a different mind…Divine Mind.  You will know they come from Source because they will always be coming from a place of Love.

I’m singing my little song to you now.  “It’s time to get up in the morning.”  I sense you are stirring.  Open your eyes and see what you’ve been missing.

A new day has begun…and this time, God is Being all.
